Legal Searches
What information is legal to obtain and what isn't?
Due to changes in privacy laws in the last 10 years, the obtaining of certain
information can get you in hot water with the justice system.
For instance, it is now necessary to obtain a court judgment before bank account records
can be legally obtained and the info cannot be obtained through pretext.
Also as of recently, cell phone records can no longer be obtained on another individual legally!
It used to be legal to run a credit report on just about anyone......not anymore! You must have
an individual's authorization to run a credit report for employment or tenant screening.
Also, if you have someone run a search that's illegal, you and the company that ran it can now be
charged with a federal crime!

Worker's Compenstion Fraud
Worker's Compensation Fraud is on the rise! From service trades to business professionals, the number of claims is steadily rising through out the U.S.
It appears that when the unemployment rate increases and the economy goes sour, worker's compensation claims increase also.
Many claims are legitimate. Many claims are not. And many claims start out with a legitimate injury, but upon being cured, individuals decide they don't want to go back to work and attempt to obtain ongoing benefits to remain unemployed.
The combination of good, legitimate doctors who are willing to substantiate to the insurance companies that the patient is cured and investigators providing video surveillance footage showing the patient capable of performing their previous work duties appears to be the only way to stop this fraud.
